RED if Negative, GREEN if Positive

Learn how to use conditional formatting in Google Sheets to visually differentiate between positive and negative hours worked. This tutorial shows you how to set up rules that turn negative values red and positive values green.

I'm trying to figure out who I have to invoice extra hours or who I need to work for to get more hours. So I wanna know the difference between hours worked and hours paid. So I'm gonna go to my D three. I'm gonna say equals. Paid minus worked, and this is how many hours I have left. I can center this as well, but I want to clearly see like, do I need to invoices people who are negative hours? So I wanna turn that red, so I'm gonna highlight the whole column of D. Go up to format conditional formatting, and in the D column, I can set format rules. For right now, I'm gonna say greater than zero, and the text, I actually just want to change to green.

And the fill color, I want none. Maybe a darker green. I'm gonna click done and then. While still highlighting this, I'm gonna add another rule and the format sells if less than zero, and here I'm gonna change the text to red and the background to none and I'm gonna click done. And there I have negative numbers are red and the positive numbers are green. You are watching better sheets here on YouTube.
