What is clean data in Google Sheets?

Clean Data is a data cleanup or sheet operation in Google Sheets: trimming text, splitting columns, removing duplicates, or fixing separators. Cleanup steps usually happen before analysis formulas run.

When to use it

Use cleanup tools when imported data has extra spaces, mixed types, or duplicate rows.

When to skip it

Skip one-off cleanup when the source system can export clean columns in the first place.
