What is header rows in Google Sheets?

Header Rows changes sheet structure or layout: frozen panes, hidden rows, column width, inserts, deletes, or tab order. Layout choices affect readability and what collaborators can accidentally break.

When to use it

Use layout tools when headers must stay visible, clutter should hide, or columns need consistent width for printing.

When to skip it

Skip hiding or freezing when a filter view or separate presentation tab already gives readers a clean surface.
