<div> Hello, welcome, better sheet members. So we are gonna do a domain grader right now. In the previous video I showed you how to get all of these names and then check if the domains are available. In this one I'm gonna give you a few different ways that you can rank them. This really helps if you have multiple people that have to rank or grade them, and then you wanna add up those grades. To figure out which one of these is the best amongst your group . So I have a few different ways. We can do that and I'll show you now how to do it.

So actually just before we start, I'm gonna show you what we did. I did this with a co-founder last year. We started a new project. Hype hype letter was the, what we ended up going with. It's over here, down here somewhere. And how we figured it out is we'd search for the name if the.com, we had to have the.com. We made that very clear at the beginning. You might want a do.co or something if it's a very basic word or basic phrase. We had some criteria of these check mark, check boxes to say like, is it for marketers or is it for publishers? What does it sound like to the ear?

Does it make you feel happy? We counted all of those up and then we also grabbed the length of it. We wanted a short one.  As short as possible. We knew if it was available, we knew the price, and then I created this grading system. It was a very personal way to grade it. You don't have to do that. I'm just gonna show you how to do these general ones and sort of a fun, some fun variety of ways to vote. So if you first want to just say yes or no to something, that's gonna be a checkbox . So actually, let's go and delete most of these row. .

We're gonna delete most of these rows first. I'm gonna use mic. There we go. Cause we don't want to, we don't want to go up and down. So I'm gonna just highlight these three columns or cells . I'm gonna do shift command down to get all of them in the column. And I'm gonna insert check. So very quickly I got a checkbox and maybe we just say three votes each. So everybody gets three votes. Right there if you wanna make sure people are truthful. I guess. One second. I needed to get that column out of the way of the stop button of this video recording.

So if somebody might not be truthful, they might, or they don't know how many votes they have, you can do equals count. and we're gonna do C three, two C. And what are we going? We want to get a true count count of how many trues there are, and we see Bob has voted three times and lose C. Maybe she went down here and didn't remember, oh, she has four votes so she could quickly un vote. And this gives you a really top eyed view of how many people have and how many votes they. Oh my God, Bob, you're a monster. You voted 12 times. Alright, that should give you that.

That's a really good little tip if you're doing some kind of voting system, just on and off, if you wanna rank. Now, this is interesting because what I'm gonna show you is how to add it up because ranking is fun. In this way, let's say we're gonna rank one to 10 and everybody's gonna rank one to 10. We want to say, okay count. How do we wanna do this? We wanna know they kept 10 counts. So count all G three oh, G three to G count all G four, actually. And we're gonna, one second. I think there's a formatting issue. So format number two. Yeah. There we.

Thought it was like December 31st or something. So now we're counting here and all we're gonna do is like, oh, Bob's gonna rank 3, 4, 5, 6. We're just gonna rank one through 10. And you can see rank five. So just to count all there. So we just wanna count if it's not empty length, how do we figure out the length of these dot coms or these websites, right? L e n. , we're just gonna do l e n A four and I think we can do array formula A four to a, there we go. In one cell we have the entire length of all of these names.

And what's interesting too, or sorry, one of the challenges with Ray Formula is you shouldn't do it if you know you're gonna sort , so many times when you're grading something like this, you're gonna wanna. based on some columns. So I would highly recommend not using an array formula for that, which I think let's see if it messes up here. There you go. Everything went away because even this one had an array formula here, and that's gonna happen. It's just undo that.

We have a array formula back, and you're gonna want to do like just l n a four. We're just gonna do a.  and this, what you could do is sort on another sheet. I have another video thing called Sort Without A filter . Sort with a filter . Go check that video out. Alright, now here's a fun one. Okay, so few weeks ago someone was asking if you can add a star rating and you can, you can use emojis and you can add a star rating. Here's the thing, we wanna be able to measure that, right? We want five stars to have the number five.

And so here, I'll, I'll show you, I'm gonna go get an emoji and I'll be right back. Okay? We're gonna go with the classic emoji, so it's emojipedia.org/ star's. Gonna copy there and what we want to do is go back to our domain grader and we want to have create a dropdown . We are gonna create data validation list from a list of items we're gonna paste. Star, two stars, three stars, takes it four times for four stars, and five times for the fifth star. We're gonna save it. Right now we have star ratings, right? We can whoa.

Copy, copy and paste late, and now we have star ratings across the whole thing. You can put in one star five stars. But what happens if we want to sort this, see what happens? See it sorts, it actually does sort in the wait, but this isn't . This is gonna mess up, so let's not do that. But we want a number . We want to be able to add this.

Say we had a number of different ways we're grading these and we wanna add them all up into like a nice bow tie package, single number to rank everything for all together. So what we need to do is we need to change this star rating to a number three. We're gonna use switch for that. We're gonna do equals switch . We're gonna use this as the expression case one. It's gonna be. Where is it? Oh, we need to go and grab this. Copy that. So we're going to, let's try that again. Switch . We can use this as a case.

The first case of a single star, we're gonna have one, we want value of one, two stars. Two, and we're just gonna do comma then three stars in parentheses, in number three in quotations.  and what are we gonna do? Number four. And then five stars. End n no, end quotations. Five. And now we have our numbers. So now we have a two star rating here, and we have a number two here. So now we can take these number , these star ratings and actually use them in some kind of formula that we'll we'll put together.

You know, maybe we highly rank length, so maybe it's like, , let's do something like, we'll take the number of star ratings. This is probably not a good idea, but number of star ratings. We want lower length to be higher points. So let's say we do divide by, Nope. Yep. Divide by this so that if we have three stars divided by a higher number , it'll be a lower number . If it's three stars divided by a lower number , it'll be a higher. We want to inverse ratio, right? And we'll do this times 1000. And we get a nice little rating here.

Very, very quick and dirty formula here to take the length and the star rating and combine it. We can add 'em up we can add up number of ratings here if we want to do a count through this. So maybe we want to. , we'll go back here. Well, maybe we wanna multiply it by the number of counts. So we go count if range is going to be, whoops. Nope. We want the one there. Let's see. We want the range to be these three. What are we gonna count for? True. And so now that's gonna be a darn zero. Let's.  plus one. So now that's a much bigger rating cause it's five stars.

Somebody voted, two people voted for it here. So it's gonna be mul multiplied by one plus two, so multiplied by three. So see we can increase and decrease numbers as we wish. In this formula , I'm made a really hacky formula . You can probably come up with something much better. Let me know if you're grading something and you want to come up with a much better formula , happy to.  and figure out, basically you want to divide by numbers that are bad and you want to times by numbers that are good that gets you higher ratings.

So this is a higher rating cuz it's five stars. Length is 16, not 17, and we have these over here, these additions. That's it. Hopefully you enjoyed something out of this. Maybe you learned something out of this. Have a good one. And enjoy grading your domains or grading anything you want.</div>
