How to Group Cells in Google Sheets

Learn how to efficiently group cells and rows in Google Sheets to organize your data better. This tutorial covers the steps to group rows and the keyboard shortcuts to make the process quicker.

So you want to group some cells . We want to group rows. For example, we have January, February, March as a first quarter. Maybe we want to group these rows together. So we'll select any of these cells or these rows. And we can go to view, group , and group . There is this keyboard shortcut that you can see on your computer when you go to do this for the first time. For example, this is option shift right arrow. And it's going to ask us two things. either to group the rows or group the columns. In this case, I want to group my rows. So, I'll group my rows. And suddenly, I have a new item over here on the far left, which is a minus or a plus. If I want to hide, I can click the minus. If I want

to unhide , I can click the plus sign. So, let's say I want to also group July through September. I can select these and I can do the same thing. view, group , group , and select rows.
